The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester to Credo Care Fostering in Lydd during Foster Care Fortnight, marking the organisation’s 25th anniversary of supporting children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.

During the visit, Her Royal Highness met foster families, support workers and staff, hearing first-hand about the challenges and rewards of specialist fostering, and the vital role carers play in providing safe and nurturing homes. The Duchess also learned more about Credo Care’s work across England and the ongoing need to recruit more foster carers, particularly to support those with additional and complex needs.

The occasion also marked an important milestone in the organisation’s future, with the announcement of the new Credo Care Foundation, helping to ensure its values and mission continue for years to come.

The visit concluded with Her Royal Highness unveiling a commemorative plaque to celebrate 25 years of life-changing work and a continued commitment to supporting vulnerable young people to thrive.

The Lord-Lieutenant was pleased to be joined by her Lord-Lieutenant Cadet, Cadet Staff Sergeant Jessie-May Arnold from Folkestone School for Girls CCF.

Our sincere thanks to Her Royal Highness for her visit and warmest congratulations to all those involved in this significant occasion.
