Her Majesty’s Historic Reign

Platinum Jubilee

In 2022, Her Late Majesty The Queen celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, the first British Monarch to do so. Her Majesty dedicated herself to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth for 70 years and events took place across the country, and the world, to celebrate her historic reign.

In Kent, we all enjoyed celebrating Her Late Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee and the Lieutenancy supported events around the County. For more information on Jubilee events in Kent, visit

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons

There is a long tradition of lighting Beacons across the country to celebrate Royal Jubilees and we are proud that our communities in Kent always take such an active part in this. Kent was the first County to reach the target of 70 beacons registered to be lit on 2 June this year and we are pleased to say that the number is still growing. Beacons will be lit in the evening of 2 June 2022, celebrating HM The Queen’s reign and the service Her Majesty has given to the country. More information on how to get involved with lighting of the beacons can be found on The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon website.
