Richard Oldfield said: “Whenever we see an ambulance with blue lights flashing we feel a mixture of emotions, anxiety for the person caught up in a medical emergency, and also reassurance that they are getting excellent care. I am delighted to be able to present staff from SECAmb with the Queen’s Medal for long service and good conduct, working in the ambulance service frontline. At some point any one of us may need an ambulance crew, so it is absolutely right that their dedication and professionalism can be recognised in this way.”
