HM The King’s Garden Parties

His Majesty The King hosts garden parties at Buckingham Palace each Summer to thank nominated individuals for outstanding voluntary and public service. More information on these Garden Parties can be found on the Royal Family Website.

The Lord-Lieutenant is invited to nominate a limited number of Kent residents to attend a Garden Party each year. Those nominated will be Kent residents who have made a particular contribution to the community, and they are drawn from across Kent, representing the diversity of our County.

Suggest a Nomination

If you know someone who you would like to suggest for a nomination because you think they have undertaken outstanding voluntary service, or have otherwise made a difference in their community, then please send their name, address, age (if known) and a summary of their contribution to lordlieutenant@kent-lieutenancy.org.uk. Candidates for nominations are assessed in November with the successful nominees being written to in early January. Please note that nominations for Royal Garden Parties should remain confidential and possible nominee should not be made aware of their nomination.

As the number of candidates for nomination always exceeds the spaces allocated, regrettably we cannot guarantee a space at a Garden Party.  However, if someone that you suggest is successfully nominated then we will try our utmost to secure an invitation for them at the earliest possible time.

We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about the exceptional members of our community.
