Deputy Lieutenant Kelvin Holford was delighted to visit Dartford junior parkrun, now in its 10th year and approaching its 400th event. With attendance up 50% this year and strong links growing with local schools, the event continues to be a fantastic source of community spirit and youth activity.
A special highlight was celebrating Neve Arnould, who completed her final junior parkrun on 16 November after achieving an incredible 250+ events, making her only the fifth young person in Kent, and the second girl, to reach this milestone. Neve is an outstanding role model and now competes with Central Park Athletics at county level.
Our congratulations to Neve and thanks to the organisers and the dedicated volunteers who make this event possible every Sunday. A wonderful example of community at its best.
