The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to visit The Gillingham Street Angels today (Wednesday 23 September) to meet with their CEO, Mr Neil Charlick and some of their volunteers to listen and see first hand what they have been doing during the Coronavirus Crisis.  The Gillingham Street Angels are a group of volunteers who work with the most needy in the community.  They run soup kitchens for the homeless and vulnerable in the Medway area and provide hot food and supplies to those who need it.  During the pandemic, the demand for their services has unfortunately, seen a huge increase.  The Street Angels have gathered donations and prepared hundreds of hot meals on a daily basis.  Volunteers have collected donations from local businesses and members of the community.

Lady Colgrain was pleased to be able to meet these exceptional volunteers and learn more about the fantastic work they have been doing for their community.
