Deputy Lieutenant, Peter Gilbert, recently represented the Lord-Lieutenant at the opening of the fantastic Unknown Soldier Exhibition at Rochester Art Gallery. The Artist, David Tovey, is a former soldier who has experienced homelessness. His artwork demonstrates the very real struggles that soldiers face when leaving the military. As someone who has served in the Army, Peter Gilbert was extremely interested in meeting with Mr Tovey and learning more about his experiences and how he has channeled this into thought provoking artwork. The Exhibition runs until 16 April.
