Offham village near West Malling held its Annual Village Church Service on Sunday 22nd June at St Michael’s Church with  the Reverend David Green officiating.  The theme of this year’s service was remembering a village, county and community in the Great War Years 1914-1918, through a selection of music and readings.

Guest of Honour Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Marion Regan MBE DL gave a bible reading  from  the  book  of Joshua  about  Memorial  Stones. This theme was
picked up by the Reverend David Green in his sermon where he said that the war memorials are like rocks in a river, where the water of present day life continues to flow around them, but for ever affected by their presence and reminding us of Christ.

The service concluded with a glass of Pimms with neighbours in the churchyard as the sun slowly set.
