Thursday 8th May saw the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. Communities across the county hosted events to mark this important occasion, remember those we lost, and celebrate and pay tribute to the WWII generation.

The Lord-Lieutenant and her Deputy Lieutenants have attended events across Kent and Medway including Afternoon Teas, Church and Cathedral Services, Wreath Layings, Beacon Lightings and even a sponsored walk by 90 year old veteran, Harry Chapman and a 150th FA Cup Anniversary Football Match!

Thank you so much to everyone who has organised or participated in these special events to commemorate this important day in our Nation’s history.
