The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Hugh Robertson, was delighted to present Eastchurch Aviation Museum with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service on behalf of His Majesty The King, in recognition of its exceptional contribution to the local community and beyond.

Sir Hugh was supported by Deputy Lieutenant Victoria Wallace and the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet, Cadet Flight Sergeant Mason O’Brien from 1404 Chatham Squadron Air Cadets.

Receiving this prestigious award reflects the Museum’s sustained commitment to preserving and celebrating the remarkable history of early aviation at Eastchurch, while inspiring future generations through education, engagement and community involvement. From welcoming thousands of visitors each year to supporting young people, volunteers and local partnerships, the Museum’s impact extends far beyond its immediate setting and embodies the very best of community spirit.

Our warmest congratulations to all those involved in this outstanding achievement and extends its thanks to everyone who contributed to such a special occasion.
