The Lord-Lieutenant marked the start of Armed Forces Week by taking part in the Chairman of Kent County Council’s Virtual Flag Raising Ceremony. This was a wonderful event and we are extremely grateful to KCC for putting this together and inviting us to take part. Deputy Lieutenants also took part in socially distanced Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremonies across the County. 
Mr Bill Cockcroft DL was delighted to be present in Maidstone at Maidstone Borough Council’s Flag Raising and Dr Bhargawa Vasudaven was pleased to attend Gravesham Borough Council’s Flag Raising Ceremony in Gravesend’s Community Square.
The Lord-Lieutenant was pleased to be asked to take part in Medway Council’s special video for Armed Forces Day as they were unable to host their usual event due to current restrictions. You can watch this very special video here which includes messages from the Leader of Medway Council, The Royal School of Military Engineers in Brompton and HMS Medway.
