We were delighted to welcome HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh to the Kent County Show this year. The County Show is an annual celebration of Kent’s agricultural heritage. The visit began with the opening of the HOYS Harness Horse and Pony of the Year followed by a walk to the Living Land Display, where The Duchess took time to explore the educational exhibits, engaging with the interactive displays that highlight the importance of farming and food production. At the Livestock Judging Area, HRH observed the judging of cattle and sheep, presenting prizes where appropriate. Young Farmers and local Girl Guides all had the opportunity to meet Her Royal Highness and share their experiences. Her Royal Highness also toured the Produced in Kent area and met with Deputy Lieutenant and Chair of Produced in Kent, Susie Warran-Smith and viewed (and sampled!) a wide array of local food exhibits. We are so pleased that Her Royal Highness visited the county at this very special event for Kent which shines a spotlight on volunteers, young people, and the huge importance of agriculture in Kent.
