The Lord-Lieutenant of Kent was delighted to formally reopen Meopham Windmill, a cherished local landmark and symbol of community pride. After over 50 years of stillness, the sails are once again turning by wind power thanks to the incredible efforts of the Meopham Windmill Trust, dedicated volunteers, and support from Kent County Council.

The restoration has brought new life to this historic site, which now welcomes visitors, school groups, and community organisations.
Lady Colgrain joined trustees, volunteers, and local dignitaries to mark this special occasion and celebrate the Windmill’s return as a working heritage site at the heart of Meopham.
