Deputy Lieutenant, Mrs Georgie Warner was pleased to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at the West Kent District Trafalgar Day Parade held in Royal Tunbridge Wells on Sunday 12 October 2025.
Hosted by the Royal Tunbridge Wells Sea Cadets, the annual parade commemorated the historic Battle of Trafalgar and celebrated the enduring legacy of naval service. This year’s event held special significance, as it also marked the formal awarding of the Freedom of the Borough to the Sea Cadets Unit, the highest honour a Council can bestow upon a military organisation.

The parade featured cadets from across West Kent, proudly marching through the town in recognition of their service and community contribution. Mrs Warner joined civic dignitaries, military representatives, and members of the public in honouring the Sea Cadets’ achievements and witnessing the ceremonial exercise of their newly granted Freedom.
Following the parade, guests were welcomed to a reception at the Town Hall, where Mrs Warner conveyed the Lord-Lieutenant’s warm congratulations and appreciation for the Sea Cadets’ dedication to youth development and civic pride.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Kent extends her sincere thanks to the Royal Tunbridge Wells Sea Cadets and West Kent District for their continued service and commitment to the community.
