Deputy Lieutenant Clive Stevens was delighted to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at TS Jamaica’s Margate Heritage Day, an event that brought together cadets, families, volunteers and members of the local community to celebrate maritime heritage, service and achievement.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a special Recognition Award to a cadet. Drawing on the first aid skills developed through Sea Cadets, the cadet showed remarkable courage and composure when providing CPR to a stranger, continuing their efforts until the arrival of paramedics. Presenting the award, Clive praised the cadet’s quick thinking, selflessness and dedication to helping others.
The evening also celebrated the achievements of many other cadets through a series of awards, promotions and qualifications, showcasing the commitment, teamwork and leadership being developed at TS Jamaica.
Our warmest congratulations to all the cadets recognised during the evening. Their achievements are a credit to themselves, their families, and the dedicated staff and volunteers whose support helps them to develop and thrive.
