The Annual Kent Special Constabulary Awards took place in December to recognise and celebrate the best police volunteering in the county. Two of our Deputy Lieutenants were present at the Awards Ceremony – Sir George Jessel and Nadra Ahmed in her role as High Sheriff of Kent.
Sir George presented the Rural Policing Award which this year has been renamed in Sir George’s honour given his long-term commitment to both Kent’s rural communities and safety. The Award went to the Drone Team for their innovative work in pursuing rural criminals.
The High Sheriff presented the award for Exceptional Contribution to Alex Wilson from SECAmb for his work on the Joint Response Unit – a team made up of Paramedics and Specials that attend incidents that would require both police and ambulance attendance. It has saved millions of pounds – but more importantly gets people vital support much faster.
Many congratulations to all those who received Awards on the evening and thank you to everyone in Kent Special Constabulary for all you do to keep the County safe and protected.
