Deputy Lieutenant Lord Colgrain was pleased to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at Sevenoaks District Council’s Emergency Services Day flag-raising ceremony on 9 September.
The event brought together representatives from across Kent’s emergency services, local government and the wider community to recognise the dedication and commitment of those who serve on the front line, including NHS staff, police officers, firefighters, paramedics and volunteers.
Following the raising of the Emergency Services Day flag, attendees observed a two-minute silence in memory of those who have lost their lives while protecting and supporting others.
Emergency Services Day provides an important opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contribution made by emergency responders and to raise awareness of the many ways people can support their communities through volunteering, public service and lifesaving skills.
Our sincere thanks go to all those who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, and to everyone involved in organising this important event of recognition.
