It was a great pleasure for the Lord-Lieutenant of Kent to present BRCA Kent with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service at a special ceremony on 22 April. The award is the highest honour given to voluntary groups in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

Presented on behalf of His Majesty The King, the award recognises the exceptional contribution of BRCA Kent’s volunteers, who provide compassionate, informed support to women and families across Kent. Many volunteers draw on their own lived experience, offering reassurance and guidance to others facing complex and life-changing decisions.

The Lord-Lieutenant congratulated everyone involved on their dedication, empathy and generosity of spirit, and thanked them for the vital role they play within the community.

Warm congratulations to BRCA Kent on this outstanding and richly deserved recognition.
