Deputy Lieutenant Susie Warran-Smith was delighted to attend a recent Canterbury Voices event, an inspiring initiative supporting young musicians across the city. A strong supporter of the project, Susie has continued to champion the organisation’s mission to raise funds for talented girls who may otherwise face barriers to accessing musical opportunities.

Among last year’s grant recipients, one young musician used funding to purchase a new violin bow, significantly enhancing her performance and helping secure a place at a leading conservatoire. Another recipient has benefited from additional singing lessons and is now aspiring to further study. These achievements are a testament to the impact of Canterbury Voices and highlight the vital work of the volunteers whose dedication makes these opportunities possible.

Our warmest congratulations to all involved in this inspiring initiative.
