Deputy Lieutenant Lady Melville (Hilary Eldridge) was delighted to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at the Science and Technology Challenge Day held at the University of Greenwich in Medway.

Organised by MCS Projects Ltd, the event aims to inspire young people to pursue studies and careers in STEM subjects by engaging them in activities that are both enjoyable and educational.

Year 8 and 9 students from nine schools across Kent took part in a range of hands-on challenges, including building and programming robots, investigating forensic evidence using E-Fit technology, diagnosing medical conditions, and designing and constructing electric vehicles.

Lady Melville greatly enjoyed this inspiring day, which showcased innovation, teamwork and the exciting opportunities that STEM can offer young people.

Our sincere thanks to all those involved in organising the event, and in particular to the dedicated team of student leaders whose enthusiasm, expertise and encouragement helped guide participants through a highly successful day of challenges.
