Deputy Lieutenant Dr Sam Parrett was pleased to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at the 80th anniversary celebration of Soroptimist International Tunbridge Wells & District.
Members past and present, together with civic leaders and National, Regional and Club Soroptimist Presidents, gathered to mark eight decades of service, advocacy and support for women and girls.
During the celebration, Dr Parrett highlighted the transformative power of education in creating opportunities for women and girls. The National President praised the club’s long-standing commitment to creating positive change through the dedication of its volunteers, while the Club President reflected on the continuing importance of advancing gender equality and inspiring future generations.
The event concluded with the premiere of 80 Years of Making a Difference, a film produced by Soroptimist International Tunbridge Wells & District, showcasing the club’s proud legacy of service to the community and the impact of its work over the past eight decades.
