In the Summer, Deputy Lieutenant, Major Dennis Bradley was pleased to welcome the riders from the annual Royal British Legion Industries charity cycle event as they stopped off in Hythe for a water break. One of the riders was the Mayor of Hythe, Cllr Jim Martin. Their destination was the Menai Bridge in Belgium, via Calais and Poperinge which is twinned with Hythe.
